Cradle Mountain 1

Above few highlights from Cradle Mountain. My English isn't good enough to describe that place. We stayed 3 nights in best caravan park ever: no pool, no jumping pillow, no playground, no internet. Instead we got beautiful tent sites right in the forest, plenty of wildlife, birds and wallabies at and in the tent(little thieves munching on our food supply and scavenging through rubbish)  and mountain style kitchen with open fireplace. Of course plenty of rain, but you got to really appreciate clear sky and as every ray of sunshine. The next day we got all ready for a big nature walk/hike/ climb. We all did the loop around  Dove Lake, took us around 3hours- amazing scenery, especially as clouds lifted off and  mountain appeared in its full glory. Some of us took a challenged and made it to the summit of Craddle Mountain(over 1500 m ) - something to be very proud of when you are only 11 and 13 y.o. Others went on a great hike past Crater lake, Wombat pool, at the bottom of Marions Lookout  all the way to Ronny Creek. Anyway we all got home exhausted but happy. The next day we decided to take it easy and go on few short walks around Cradle Mt National Park, including Enchanted Forest, Wildheim Hut,  to recover from last day adventure. Although some decided to challenged Marion's Lookout, despite one recovering from Achilles surgery and another only 6 y.o. While another one desperately headed for a Cradle Mt Summit, despite fog, rain and not much to see anyway. Life lesson learnt: never ever go hiking in the wild by yourself!!! We finished the day with visit to Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary, great educational experience and amazed watching devils and   quolls fighting and being fed.
