Launceston and Holly 13th πŸŽ‰

Great day at Launceston. Beginning at stunning Cataract Gorge , easy ride on the chairlift ( longest suspension between the poles in the world!) with short walk around and over the Aleksandra Suspension Bridge.
Later on Dads visited National Automobile Museum, both pretty chuffed about it, while the rest enjoyed lunch at the local Park, with jolly ride train, cute monkeys enclosure and playground.
Finally we celebrated Holly's birthday with dinner at KFC and night in the movies, "sing" for kidlets, "la la land" for mums and "Star Wars " for dads. Big 13 and already promising photographer:).
We started with crazy wet weather and finish with good dose of rain as well,  followed by late night drying some bedding, Kristy and Sophie crushing in Jumzo' s palace and late night for all.
Lucky sun was out this morning and we packed up our "homes away from home" ready to head back to mainland!

North east Tasmania 2

Today to enjoyed more driving in this beautiful place and visited few interesting places:
- Bridestowe Lavender Farm - something definetly for me and Lydia, as the rest of the group appeared hardly interested. Just the view of the long stretches of blooming lavender fields ready to harvest was mind blowing, in addition we got to learn all the information about growing, harvesting, types, producing the oil and other use of lavender flower, with aroma in the air and testing some oil on our wrists.
- Bass and Flinders centre in George Town, with replica of Norfolk Ship, we all got to walk on it as well as check all the cabins under the deck, kids definitely enjoyed it while adults appreciated history lesson from very knowledgeable but mildly cranky older guide lady:)
-  Kev and Domi ventured to explore Beaconsfield Historic Gold Mine, Domi was very excited after fossicking few pieces of "gold" and Kev shared all the stories with us at the dinner time
- Seahorse world in Beauty Point - the only seahorse farm in the world, very exciting place with multiple species of see horses, breeding programme, babies and pregnant male( the only species of fauna where male carries the pregnancy and gives birth!!!) and even ability to touch a few:)
- hope Tooth fairy doesn't get sea sick, travelling back and forth to Tasmania- this time Miss Lexi lost her front tooth!

After all those adventures we arrived in Launceston for our last set up  ⛺️

St Helens and Bay of Fires 2

With wet and very windy start to our holidays in St Helens, we started with drive through gorgeous countryside and short walk to a very tall (around 100 m tall) St Columbus waterfall, followed by a visit to  pick your own blueberry farm, we picked nearly 3 kilos, so some of us had a great intake of antioxidants ( germs won't stand a chance!). Jumzo and kids enjoyed fishing, some simply relaxed, others had to work a bit. All attended local community music festival, where kids participated in some craft activities in Binalong Bay.
On Sun we went to explore the Bay Fires from the land as well as the water. Firstly we drove to Gardens where kids climbed over the red rocks and played in rock pools, had lunch and a swim in Cosy Corner, with rather fresh water of 16 degrees. In the afternoon we set sail again, this time on a powerful speed boat, which made kids sqeel in delight. The crystal clear water plus white sand plus no cloud in the sky gave amazing aqua effect; untouched beaches, red coloured granite rocks, all provided us with breathtaking views of the Bay of Fires, to top up the experience to got to see few playful dolphins 🐬 closed by.

BIG DAY!!!

Today we put ourself through intensive boot camp training, so definitely we burnt the pies and sausage rolls consumed at lunch. Early start again ready by 8.30 for some kayaking in the bay. It took us a while to gear up and learn few tricks, then we set off for 2 hours full on paddling in rather choppy waters with a short break for cup of milo/ tea/coffee with huge cookie on a small beach. All really enjoyed the whole adventure and the work out πŸ’ͺ .
After lunch " the Jumzo tribe " headed for a another hike, with full sun on our backs we climbed up to the  Wineglass Bay Lookout , then walked down to the wineglass beach/bay. After a rest and a swim in painfully cold wineglass bay, to avoid repeating the same track, we decided to walk the Isthmus Track Circuit, measuring 8 km. Kids were truly amazing walking all that distance, except two little penguins who enjoyed the free ride on our backs, especially miss Fred who slept most of the way. With a short break for another swim in Hazzard Beach, with much warmer temperature, we all treck around the coastline all the way back. One of the pictures showing kids after hiking for 9,5 km all up - very  proud of those old, young and small troopers πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Maria Island 2

Today Kev, Jon and myself started with early wake up at 5. 30 to challenge local peak called Mount Amos. With just over 2 hours we conquered nearly vertical wall, despite some slips and injuries it was definitely worth the sweat, as view over the wineglass Bay  at 7 am was amazing.
We came down just in time for another adventure. Destination: Maria Island. So we set sail again on interesting little ferry to explore pure Island. Then it was time for more walking, lucky chocolate and ice cream bribe can make children walk some serious distances. We had lunch and play on a beautiful beach, explore Painted Cliffs and Fossil Cliffs, spotted some wildlife like wombat, geese, wallabies and family of kangaroos, desperately searching for Tasmanian devils with no successs. Day finished with yummy fish and chips in Swansea.
